My Favorite Video Games

Kevin Pelletier

I’ve been playing video game for awhile now and these games are my favorite, in no particular order:

Ocarina of Time

I played Ocarina of time (and most of the other Zelda I played) on the GameCube, I love the gameplay, the small puzzle and adventure but what put it on this list is the soundtrack. I still, to this day go back and listen to some of the song that came out of that game. I even consider “Gerudo Valley” one of my favorite music of all time.

Mario Galaxy

Mario Galaxy is my favorite Mario game for sure, the setting and gameplay just felt so magical and unique. Just like Ocarina of time, I also still listen to the soundtrack that I love so much. I usually listen to the entire album but the one I listened the most too is “Rosalina’s Storybook theme”

Dust 514

Dust 514 is my favorite FPS game, it was a weird game that took place in the E.V.E. universe. People from the MMO (E.V.E. Online) sent troops to fight on planets for them and those troops were DUST 514 players. It also was a PS3 exclusive for some reason.. and they closed the server ‎May ‎29, ‎2016. I played with someone who was making Youtube videos so I’m lucky to be able to watch my last game played.

The maps were big, vehicles were used and my favorite part: The game let you decide how you wanted to play, you were able to be creative in a FPS, which is too rare. The second screenshot is the dropsuit menu, where you could customize how your character function basically. You could for example have a very light, fast character with low Health points running around the map, or you could become a slow tank and be able to take down vehicles by yourself. The options were endless!

Portal 2

Portal 2 is one of the game I could call my absolute favorite of all time, I love the puzzle, the story, setting and humor.

Minecraft

Minecraft is very the closest to a perfect game in my opinion, it is my favorite since it let you play however you want to play with a very big modding community, the gameplay loop is endless, fun and let you explore your own creativity. I love exploring, building, fighting, I love the music and I love the social aspect of building something bigger with others as well.

I also love the technical aspect of the game. I like to find ways to farm resources using Redstone (electricity of the game) and game other game function, close to exploiting the game in a certain way.
