  • Card Evaluation: Guiding Star

Salutations. This post is my evaluation of a card in Slay the Spire II.

This is Guiding Star, a card that costs 1 Energy and 2 Stars, dealing 12 damage and drawing 2 cards. Guiding Star is… manageable, but that Star cost is really rough, since at the beginning of Act I your only means of Star generation is Divine Right (giving you 3 Stars at the start of combat) and Venerate, giving 2 stars for 1 Energy.

In a way, this thing is Competing with Falling Star, one of the Regent’s best cards, period, since they both have a pretty hefty Star cost for the start of a run. It does become better if you add a Glow or a Convergence into your deck, but ultimately, dealing 12 damage isn’t enough. Drawing two cards, though, does sound good at first, but seeing more of Regent’s early deck manipulation, primarily Convergence and Glimmer, and Guiding Star really falls our of favor. This doesn’t mean it’s bad per se, it’s just competing with things out of its league.

Sorry Guiding Star, but it’s just not meant to be. Perhaps a better fate is written in the stars for you.

  • Card Evaluation: Snakebite

Greetings. This post is my evaluation of a card in Slay the Spire II.

This is Snakebite, a card that somehow became really controversial in the community. It costs 2 Energy, Retains, meaning it doesn’t leave your hand at the end of your turn, and applies 7 Poison to an enemy. In a game where Energy is a very important resource to manage, Snakebite doesn’t seem to be that efficient, especially since another card, Deadly Poison, applies 5 Poison for 1 Energy. The math doesn’t seem to be in favor of Snakebite.

However, the keyword “Retain” means the opportunity to play Snakebite doesn’t go away if you draw the card at an unfortunate time. The best time to play Snakebite is when the enemy isn’t attacking, meaning it’ll stay in your hand until you apply that 7 Poison, which, despite being only 2 more than Deadly Poison, matters a lot. Poison will keep dealing damage even when your other means of damage are out of the picture (say, fighting the Entomancer or killing a Kaiser Crab’s claw as the other one gains 99 Block), and, over say, three turns, Snakebite alone will deal 18 damage; compare it to Deadly Poison’s 12 along with general Poison upkeep with Bubble Bubble, Noxious Fumes, and Envenom, and this card does a lot more than what simple math will tell you.

So yeah, Snakebite is actually pretty good. It even works well against some Act I elites, like Skulking Colony, Terror Eel, Byrdonis, and Bygone Effigy (kind of, you’d rather use Shivs for this one). But don’t pick up Poison Potion from a Merchant, though, that one’s a snake-oil salesman selling that.

Phainon is one of the central characters in the Amphoreus storyline of Honkai: Star Rail. As a Chrysos Heir, he carries the power of the Coreflame and fights against the destruction threatening his world.

His story is deeply connected to fate, responsibility, and sacrifice. Even while facing endless conflict and the collapse of Amphoreus, Phainon continues to move forward and protect others.

Phainon has a calm and heroic personality inspired by ancient Greek legends. Many players like him because he feels both powerful and tragic, making him one of the most memorable characters in Amphoreus.

Cyrene is one of the important characters in the Amphoreus storyline of Honkai: Star Rail. She comes from a world trapped in fate and endless cycles, giving her a calm and melancholic feeling.

Her story is closely connected to themes like memory, destiny, and sacrifice. Even though she understands the sadness and destruction surrounding Amphoreus, she still chooses to protect others and continue moving forward.

Cyrene is not a loud or dramatic character. Instead, she has a gentle and quiet personality that makes her feel emotional and memorable. Many players like her because she represents hope and kindness in a tragic world.

Or E33 for short, is a French turn-based RPG , it won 9 awards at The Game Awards in 2025, including game of the year.

I started playing at the end of the year, during the holidays and I love it! I’ve been listening to the Soundtrack more than I actually played though, the music is so good!

Later on, they added a photo mode which is the best I’ve seen in a game. I love all the option and freedom from their photo mode.

Since Slay the Spire 2 came out I’ve been playing on and off, mainly while eating since it’s the kind of game that can be played without using a keyboard (mouse only).

Slay the spire is a rogue-like deck builder game, meaning that levels are generated randomly and that once you die, you restart the whole game.

I also still play Slay the Spire (first game) on my phone during transit since the second game isn’t available on mobile yet.

  • Animal Crossing – Tribute

    “What did he do?”

“He accidentally made Graham move away from our island”

    “……..you’re joking…..right?”

    “…”

    In Memory of

Graham, a smug hamster that loved reading and searching (a big nerd), you were gone too soon. You still had so much more to experience on the island of “Mushi”. You lived at the back of the island, on a elevated place, but not because you were seen as an outsider. You had your own very garden with beautiful orange flowers that went so well with the design of your house.

You might not had the best fashion style, but that is exactly what made you so unique. You spent your time in the museum, studying every species that were caught by your dear residents. When you didn’t have your nose in a book, you were outside strolling in the plaza square, chatting with some the other villagers.

You arrived on Mushi Island on 2020 and left abruptly on a uneventful day.

You were liked by many, but none of them appreciated you like I did snif snif. We were best friends. I gave you all types of gifts you could think of: clothes, furniture, insects, tools, food, etc. We shared so many memories together and I regret that you never saw the opening of my bakery on the right side of the island, next to the shops. You also missed countless of Christmases, Halloween parties and New Year Celebrations and most importantly, my birthdays.

We never did say goodbye. I couldn’t even help pack up your belongings. It’s not your fault. It was my stupid baby brother who was not old enough to understand english yet. But he just had to select the option “move away” and not let you stay. All of this could have been avoided if my sister never added him to the island. He is a parasite and ever since you left, it has become trashy with random objects laying all over the ground. Maybe some of it is because of me, but let’s just ignore that.

To you, Graham, the best villager one could ask for in Animal Crossing.

  • Final Fantasy XV

    “Walk tall, my son.”

    Overview

Final Fantasy XV is a game following Prince Noctis who goes out on a roadtrip to his wedding with his three friends Ignis, Prompto and Gladiolus.

Final Fantasy XV has been an absolute blast so far. I love the interaction between the characters, I love the combat, the world is beautiful, and the subject matter itself is wonderful. There’s been no bad sides to it so far, and for this reason I definitely recommend it.

  • Final Fantasy X

β€œListen to my story, this may be our last chance.”

    Overview

The game follows the main character Tidus on his journey to find his way home after being sucked into a new world by an eldritch beast known as “Sin”.

He meets Yuna, and learns that she’s a summoner who’s on a quest to defeat Sin and bring on the period of Calm (A period of peace after Sin’s been defeated). They decide to embark on their journeys together.

This is a baseline to an amazing adventure.

Final Fantasy X covers a variety of subjects such as grief, family issues and religious corruption, and it’s a well known fan favourite within the Final Fantasy series. I highly recommend giving it a shot as it was an amazing introduction for me into the Final Fantasy series.

    Most importantly

    I love Auron.
